WayPebble is built so that what you make for your child stays with you. This page explains what stays on your device, the little that reaches our servers, and what we never do.
WayPebble is run by Kausrh LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“we”, “us”). We’re responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at [email protected].
The short version
- There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking cookies.
- The boards and stories you make, the names on them and the photos you add stay in your browser. We never receive them.
- When a page loads, our servers see what every website sees, like your IP address. We use that only to run and protect the site.
- We never sell your information.
What stays on your device
The boards and stories you make, the names you type and the photos you add are saved in your browser’s storage on the device you’re using. They aren’t sent to us, and we can’t see them. PDFs are made in your browser too, so your photos are never uploaded to print.
What you make can say a lot about your child: their name, their face, their routines, what they find hard. Keeping it on your device is how we keep it private.
Read-aloud uses the voices built into your device. If your device has no English voice of its own, your browser may use an online voice from the company that makes it (Google, in Chrome), under that company’s privacy policy.
Because everything lives in your browser, clearing your browser’s data for this site deletes it. Some browsers, Safari among them, also clear data for sites you haven’t visited in a while. Keep a printout or a saved PDF of anything you rely on.
What reaches our servers
- Ordinary web requests. When a page loads, our servers and our network provider see your IP address, your browser and device type, the page you asked for and the time, as with any website. We use this only to deliver pages, keep the site running and protect it from abuse. We keep these logs for a short time, don’t combine them with anything else, and don’t use them to build a profile of you.
- Emails you send us. If you write to us, we get your email address and whatever you include, and use them to reply. We keep the conversation while it’s useful for helping you, then delete it.
That’s all. There are no accounts yet, and we don’t run analytics. If we add either, we’ll update this page before it goes live. Any analytics we add will be cookieless, won’t identify you, and will never run in the parts of WayPebble that children use.
Cookies
We don’t set cookies. Cloudflare, which protects the site, may set a strictly necessary cookie to tell people apart from malicious bots. It isn’t used for tracking or advertising.
The browser storage described above holds only what you’ve made, so the tools can keep it for you. We never read it.
Who helps us run WayPebble
A few service providers handle information for us, only on our behalf:
- Cloudflare (United States, with servers worldwide): our domain, content delivery and security. Every request to the site passes through Cloudflare.
- OVHcloud (Germany): the server that runs WayPebble.
- Our email provider, for messages you send us.
We’re based in the United States, so an email you send us is handled there. Cloudflare’s network spans many countries and uses recognized safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for international transfers.
What we never do
- No ads, and no advertising or tracking cookies.
- We never sell or rent your information, or share it for advertising.
- We never use what you make to train AI. We never receive it in the first place.
- Your child’s name and photos are never sent to us or to an AI service.
Children
WayPebble is for adults: parents, caregivers, teachers and therapists. Children use the boards and stories adults make, and nothing on WayPebble asks a child for personal information. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the minimum age where you live. If you think a child has sent us information, for example by email, tell us and we’ll delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the EU, the UK and several US states, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to object to how we use it, or to get a copy of it. Email [email protected] and we’ll respond within a month. Asking won’t change how we treat you.
In practice we hold very little. What’s on your device is already in your hands, and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser’s data for waypebble.com.
If you’re in the EU or the UK, our legal basis for server logs and emails is our legitimate interest in running a secure website and answering the people who write to us. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
We don’t sell or share personal information or use it for targeted advertising, so there’s nothing to opt out of under US state privacy laws, but you’re welcome to ask us anything.
Security
Every page is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and only the people who run WayPebble can get into our servers. No system is perfectly secure, which is one more reason we keep your child’s information off ours.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects what reaches our servers, such as adding accounts, we’ll say so on the site before it takes effect.
